Alisha Powell, PhD, LCSW graduated from Walden University with a doctoral degree in Social Psychology. She completed her graduate studies in Social Work (MSW) from University of Denver. She has experience working in a variety of settings that have included long term care, hospitals, outpatient clinics. Dr. Powell currently works as a licensed therapist and adjunct instructor.

Course Summary:

This CEU workshop is designed to equip mental health professionals with evidence-based strategies to support the mental health of children who are homeschooled. With homeschooling on the rise, it is important to recognize the unique challenges that students and families face, including social isolation, lack of structure, and the blending of academic and personal life. This CEU will explore the emotional and psychological needs of homeschoolers, emphasizing the importance of creating a balanced, nurturing, and mentally stimulating environment that promotes social interaction, emotional growth, and resilience.
